This week I present for your Friday goofing off–survival style–pleasure, a book of a serious nature. It’s a book dedicated to beards. Yes, beards.
When you ask people to imagine a survivalist they often begin by describing a guy with a big thick beard. A beard that says the owner means business. So iconic is the image of a beard that there was actually a full debate on the merits of a ‘survival beard’.
Today’s gear report is about ‘survival beards’ of another nature though. It’s about a 125 page coffee table book filled with 86 stunning pictures and 18 written contributions of beards big and small, tamed and not. And the proceeds go to help Mike Muir, the author/photographer’s brother.
From the site:
This book is not for profit
All proceeds from the first pressing of this book will go to help a friend. All additional proceeds go to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
So now you can proudly display A Book of Beards on your living room table. And when friends ask why you have such a treasure you can tell them, “It’s to help fight cancer. And a better question is why you don’t?!”
